William Henderson
Jr.
Jul 12, 1974 — Mar 7, 2026
William Stanley "Phatt Kat" Henderson Jr., born in Dallas, Texas, entered this world with a spirit full of warmth and generosity. He was lovingly raised by Nathan Ray Preston and Zella Marie Preston (Zella-preceded him in death), who nurtured him into adulthood. He was born to the union of William Stanley Henderson Sr. and Theresa Lorraine Webster; both preceded him in death.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul W. Henderson Sr. and Omie Mae Henderson, as well as his uncle, Paul W. Henderson Jr., and aunt, Shirley O. Lang.
William attended Jeanerette High School in Louisiana and graduated in 1992. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country. He went on to build a long and dedicated career, working more than 20 years at Staples before completing his professional journey at Kroger.
William leaves to cherish his memory his son, Damontra Jamal Henderson (mother, Charlita Evett Brown), and his daughter, Niriyah LeNora Henderson (mother, Nicosha Porter). He is also survived by his brothers, David D. Henderson and Abram Henderson, and his sisters, Tammie Walker (Glenn), Lazell Jones (Deirucs), NaToyia Preston, Maranda Temple, and Rochelle Henderson.
William shared a special bond with many cousins, including Perry Henderson (Tamika), Patrick Henderson (Judith), Christopher Lang (Monica), Lorenzo Johnson, Adrian Henderson, Krystal Lang, and LaOmie Black.
He is further remembered by his aunts Debra Smallwood, Paulette Seals, Addie Williams, Jackie Henderson, and step-mother Vicki Henderson along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and co-workers who were touched by his life. Known affectionally as "Phatt Kat," William was all heart—sweet, generous, and kind. His laughter, his love, and his unweaving spirit will continue to live on in all who knew and cherished him.
