Mr. Vernon Freeman was born on March 14, 1927 in Gilmer, TX to Minnie Morris and Claude Freeman. He finished school at an early age and became a carpenter at the age of 12 years old. He loved to fish and was known to most as "PawPaw". To know him was to love him. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Minnie Morris and Claude Freeman, step-mom Mary Freeman, his wife Tinnie Freeman, (3) daughters: Gwendolyn Freeman, Linda Freeman and Venito Hutson and (1) son Lavon Freeman.

Vernon leaves behind to cherish his memories (1) son Lenward Freeman (Regina);(5) grandchildren: Lakeith Freeman, Marsha Freeman, Jeffina Clewis, Kristen Parhm, Eric Henson and Edmond Freeman; (6) great grandchildren: Bronya Freeman, Montay Freeman, Lakayla Freeman, Mahlaiya Curtis, Dakayden Erwin and Loreal Jones; god-brother Sunny Shippley; (3) great-great grandchildren; (8) siblings along with a host of other relatives and friends.
