Tommy Hugh Johnson was born on February 8, 1951 in Red River County, Texas to the union of the late Aaron Johnson Sr. and Rosetta Frazier-Johnson. He attended Detroit Public Schools. Tommy was member of Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, TX under the leadership of Pastor Josh Howerton where he served as a member of the Samples Life Group.

He worked at Texas Instruments where he met his wife Donna. He then retired from Texas Instruments after 27 years. Also after retirement he enjoyed working with Enterprise for 10 years. He was a member of the "Six Shooters Riding Club". He was passionate about his horses and he loved riding them. "Cowboy" never met a stranger.

Loved ones he join in eternal life along side his parents, (4) siblings: Aaron Johnson Jr., Ernest Johnson, Dorothy Washington and Ruby McCarty, (3) brothers-in-law: Roy Washington, Jim Bowers, Roy McCarty.

Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memories wife Donna Johnson; (7) children: Unikki (Reginald) Phillips, Tamikki (Edwin) Green, Tyson (Howanna) Johnson, Eric (Courtney) Erica Scott, Johnson, Deshima  Slaughter and Laytwan (Allison) Slaughter; (8) siblings: Charles (Florida) Johnson, Bobby (Faye) Johnson, Rev. James (Velma) Johnson, Glenn (Shelia) Johnson, Vera Bowers, Linda Johnson-Hicks, Minister Rebecca (Rev. Thomas) Owens; (17) grandchildren; (6) great grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.
