Thlema Mae  Banks (Day) was born on May 23, 1947 to ElRoy  and Thelma Day, who preceded her in death,  in Kaufman county.

Thelma was united in Holy matrimony with James Banks. They were blessed with Demetrice (Mark Jr.) Newton, Rosie (Wayne) Mc Conic, Jamie (Andrea) McClendon and she was preceded in death by Keetralynn (Bobby) Jones. Her grandchildren Devin and Joveon       Kirkpatrick, Davronne Gee , Kaylee McConic, Jameisha, Janae and Jamiah McClendon , Jasmine, Kierra & Bobby Jones. She was blessed with 5 great grandchildren.

Thelma has 5 sisters, Opal (Lee) Sowells, Bessie Offord, Shirley Day, Darlene (Duncan) Ricks & Joann (Roy) Williams, 1 brother preceded in death  Tommy (JoRuth) George, Ray (Tynia) Day, Willie Smith and  also a host of nieces & nephews.

Thelma accepted Christ as her Savior at Faith chapel COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Robert & Marie Taylor.

Thelma attended strong Arms COGIC until her health failed. She worked at Wyatts Cafeteria for over 20 years. She then worked at ABCO inc until her retirement in 2007.

Thelma broke our hearts on January 27, 2022 when she went home  to be with the Lord.
