Shirley "Pat" Terrell-Bass was born on July 2, 1945, to the parentage of the late Sidney and Vera Bennett in Rockwall County. She attended Dallas Public Schools and graduated from James Madison High School.

She became a child of God at an early age and spent much of her childhood at New Independent Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and participated in many church activities. Shirley had a voice that was blessed by God and used it to lead many songs. Later in life, the Lord led her to Greater St. James Baptist Church and then Greater Emanuel Baptist Church where she continued to bless others with her voice.

Shirley was gifted three beautiful children who she loved dearly: one daughter Stephanie Terrell and two sons Darryl Terrell and Kevin Terrell whom preceded her in death.

Shirley "Pat" was an avid reader. She loved to work crossword puzzles, and enjoyed spending time watching some of her favorite shows, General Hospital, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.

She met and was united in Holy Matrimony to Delbert Lee Bass. They recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. Together, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Shirley "Pat" leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Delbert Bass; daughter Stephanie Terrell; son Darryl Terrell (Alysia); (6) grandchildren: Brea Terrell, Skye Terrell,       Brittani Montgomery, Sydni Terrell, Kaci Terrell and her only grandson Tyson Terrell; sister Dian Jones (J.C.); (5) brother & sister-in-laws; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
