Obituary

A much-loved daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend. Sherri McAtee, 60, of Paris, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home in April 2025. She was born September 30, 1963 in Cooper, Texas, and resided in Dallas, Texas for the past 45 years, having moved from Cooper in 1979 to live with her older brother Michael and his family. She graduated from Wilmer Hutchinson High School in 1982. Sherri accepted the Lord at an early age and attended church regularly visiting various places such as the Potters House, Friendship West, and the Inspiring body of Christ.

Sherri worked various service jobs before she started her career with AT&T in 2002, where she remained for the next 20 years until her retirement in September 2022. Sherri was without a doubt a people person and perfect for her work in the Customer Service field. Having worked every service job at AT&T from entry level Service Representative, to CSR II, and finally as a Revenue Management Representative at The AT&T Pinnacle Park building..

She was a woman of deep faith, known for her unwavering spirit and love for God. Her life was a testament to her belief, and she consistently lived her life with grace and compassion.

The mother of Justin Hubbard and Tremel Cortez Hubbard; she is survived by her children and her siblings. She was always committed to her children and their well-being. While their paths diverged, their shared history of love and care is a part of their story. Sherri's life was a shining example of her faith. She served as a beacon of hope and inspiration for many, always ready to lend a listening ear and offer words of encouragement.

Sherri was someone who would love you from the heart, or as she would say "I'ma tell you with GOD's Love". Once she entered your life, she was there to stay.  She was a small woman in stature but her presence could fill any room and certainly overwhelm your heart, she was a blessing and our lives are richer for having her in it. What we've lost in Sherri cannot be replaced and will be missed.

Whatever your situation be it one of highs or one of low's, she was always prepared to help you with a smile that never died or dimmed. Sherri Ann could make you so mad to the point that you could kill her, but who could hold a grudge with a person who could complete your joy. She was as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.

Having Sherri in your life was not just a trend, it's knowing you could always turn to her as a best friend. For this is a journey we all must take and each must go along. It's all part of the master plan. A step on the road to home. Whenever you are lonely and sick at heart, go the friends we know. Laugh at all the things we used to do. Miss me but let me go.
