Sherman McDonald, affectionately known as Tick, was born on March 19, 1953, to parents, J.D. & Helen McDonald (Novice, TX). He graduated from North Powderly High School and went on to work in construction and farming. Sherman accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church in Novice, Texas. Anyone who knew Tick, knows that he had a deep love and devotion to his family. His favorite past times included: signing, dancing, hunting, fishing, and playing dominoes.

On October 18, 2024, tick went on to join his parents and siblings, Pat, Haskell (Hack), Marie (Tudy), Linda, and JC McDonald, in Heaven. He leaves to cherish his memory, siblings, Billy Wayne McDonald, Jerry McDonald, Betty Allen (Roy), Jackie Ricks, and Marion McDonald. Tick's legacy lives on through his children, Nickcolin "Coco" Jenkins, Tanisha "Shay" Jenkins, Shermeece "Misty" McDonald, and non-biological son Willie Cook; grandchildren, Zhantreyvious McDonald-Johnson, Trederriyous McDonald, Cey aydrieah McDonald, Ceyahrieah McDonald, Jeremy Heady, Amareion Maytubby, Nickcolin Jenkins, Jr., and Breona Jenkins; best friend Trazell Tucker, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
