Obituary

Sherman Ruell Harston was born on August 11, 1980, to Clara Harston Brown and the late Steve Robinson Sr. in Chicago, IL. From an early age, Sherman gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member throughout his youth.
He spent his childhood in Cotton Plant and graduated from Cotton Plant High School with the Class of 1998. In 2000, Sherman relocated to Texas, and shortly thereafter, in 2001, he met the love of his life, Sheila Bahlman. The two were united in holy matrimony on February 21, 2013, in Arlington, Texas. Their beautiful union was blessed with three wonderful children and one cherished grandchild.
Sherman was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent over 16 years working as a contract helper alongside his brothers, cousins, and fellow contractors. In 2021, he proudly accomplished one of his lifelong dreams by forming his own company and launching his own business. His passion for his business, combined with his professionalism, warmth, and magnetic personality, made him a beloved figure in the community and a trusted name among his customers.
Sherman was known for his big heart, his sense of humor, and his gift of conversation—he never met a stranger. Whether across town or across the states, it seemed there wasn't a place Sherman could go to without running into someone he knew. His presence was unforgettable.
He had a love for fishing, traveling, family gatherings, and—above all—he loved to shop. Sherman took pride in his appearance and always made sure he stayed sharp and stylish.
On July 26, 2025, Sherman transitioned peacefully from this life. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Robinson Sr., and his brothers, Gary Robinson and Desmond Ewing.
Sherman leaves to celebrate his life and legacy: his loving wife, Sheila Bahlman-Harston; daughters, Shania Harston and Shyann Harston; son, Shemar Harston; and grandson, Sekai Harston-Ross. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Clara (LC) Harston; siblings: Marilyn (ShaRon) Harston, Minister Emmanuel (Sheila) Harston, Daryl (Keirra) Harston , Rev. James (Jessie) Harston, Steve B. Robinson, Ruby Harston, Stephanie (Allen) Brown, Sheridan Harston, LC Harston, and Lester Ewing; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
