Obituary

Samuel DeShawn Williams, most commonly known as Sam, Shawn or Bloc, was born on November 18, 1967, to the union of Samuel and Patsy Williams in Paris, Texas. Shawn graduated from Paris High School in 1986 and attended Prairie View A&M University. He was a member of Palestine Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Harold Washington.

As a young adult, he moved to California where he spent years enjoying the sandy West Coast beaches. After finding his way back home, Shawn met and married Regina Ellis-Williams and took on his greatest role in life, being a provider for his beloved three daughters and son. Shawn enjoyed hanging with family and friends, traveling, dancing, and simply having a goodtime. He was a devoted family man and cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. When not being an amazing husband, father and Pawpaw, he was utilizing his electrician degree that he acquired from Paris Junior College. He contributed several years to the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, as well as Campbell Soup, where his contagious personality and impeccable work ethic impacted many others.

He is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Samuel Williams, eldest brother, Fred Ondra Dangerfield, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Regina Ellis-Williams; daughters: Tam-Maria Ellis (Nan),Taneria Flentroy (Deterrius) and Tasheon Williams; son, Jastyn Williams; grandchildren: Braelon, Ja'Vien, Lynden, and Tailynn; mother, Patsy Williams; brothers: Darrell Dangerfield (Pamela), Tony Williams, Bill Williams (Genifer), and Michael Williams; sisters: Alisha Williams,  Zina Williams, Alene Shorts (Ricky), and Diedra Henderson (Shayler) along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, family, and loved ones. Love is a hard word to put into perspective, but Shawn is loved beyond measure. His loving spirit, his love for life, and his affectionate smile lives forever within us. Think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched. For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
