Ms. Ruth Johnson-Square was born in Centerville, Texas on April 22, 1939 to parents Richard Lewis Johnson and Vestie Allen. She attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Vestie Johnson and Richard Lewis Johnson, two brother: Junior Johnson and Joe Thel Johnson.

Ruth is survived by her four daughters: Debbra (Mark) Hood of Tyler, Texas, Catharine Square of Temple, Texas, Glenda Square of Ft. Worth, Texas and Sheila Square of Dallas, Texas, one brother Ned Johnson along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
