Roy Earl McCarty "Tudy Boy" was born on January 10, 1949 to Charlie McCarty and Etta Mae Sanders in Paris, Texas. He graduated from North Powderly High School and went on to work as a machine operator for many years. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and served as a deacon for the New Salem and Greater New Faith Baptist Churches for the past 40 years. Anyone that encountered him was sure to have a great conversation, a few notes from a favorite song, a couple of quick steps of his undeniable dancing skills, or any combination of the three.

Roy is preceded on death by his parents: Charlie McCarty and Etta Mae Sanders, his grandparents, beloved son Michael Paul McCarty, brothers: Ricky McCarty, Wilmer Gene McCarty "Bookie" and Collin Robinson "Dino", three sisters: Francis Franklin, Sarah McCarty and Tommie McCarty "Scales", grandchildren: Steven Douglas and Christian Randle "Bugg".

Roy leaves to cherish his loving wife Elouise "Ella" McCarty; (13) children: Craig Douglas, Steve Douglas, Vickie (Mac) Dillard, Tammie Jackson, Ronald (Keena) Randle, Sonia (John) Ellis, Dareyl McCarty, Jarvis McCarty, Ron (Robin) McCarty, Eric McCarty, Kasey Ricks, LaShonda (Donell) Barnett and LaTonya (Pye) McCarty; (38) grandchildren: Nichole "Nikki", Brittney, Travis Jr., Tamra, Christopher, Shatoya, Malcolm, Lakeem, Ranishq, Crystal, Heather, India, Denee, Ronald Jr, Zavaun, Brandon, Samautra, Dasha, Zoie, Keyera, Camren, Za'drien, Amir, Taylor'e, Jabari, Kaylon, Kaliyah, Christian, Gabrel, Jayden, Addison, Shemar, Mason, Madisyn, Shae'brion, Dae'Brion, Tahirah and Kendell; (5) siblings: Gail Cooper, Evelyn Mims, Anna McCarty, Faye Lattimore and Charles McCarty; (39) great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and special friends.
