Roderick Ray Scott was born on October 25, 1959, in Waco, Texas to Raymond Ray Scott & Betty Jean Scott, both of whom preceded him in death. Roderick attended Dallas ISD and worked selflessly as a certified nursing assistant for many years with   elderly clients.

Roderick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age and spent his life caring for the elderly working a certified nursing assistant. He attended Dallas ISD and lived happily in Mart/Waco  reconnecting with his family and friends. He departed this life on Friday, March 21, 2025, after a battle with cancer at Laurenwood Rehabilition & Nursing Home in Duncanville, Texas.

He married the love of his life, Linda who preceded also him in death.

He leaves his family to morn and cherish his life, brother Marqueis Scott (Vikki), and sister Shelia Green, stepbrother Darrell Scott (Darlene). His nieces and nephews, Kevin Scott (Tretisha),Yejide "Jady" Scott,  Keith Scott (Ashley), Justin Scott, Marqueis Scott II and Princess Scott (Casey). His two daughters, Para & Senika. A host of second-generation great nieces, nephews and grandchildren he loved and cared for along with so many lifelong friends and extended family from Mart, Texas.
