Rickey Relay Lockett was born on September 29, 1954 to the late Eva Mae Wright and R. L. Lockett and was lovingly raised by his stepfather, James Lee, who played an important role in his life. He attended Dallas Public Schools. Rickey worked as a cook for several restaurants where he was dependable, hardworking, and took pride in doing his job well. He will be remembered for his quiet  strength, gentle spirit, and the love he had for his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and brother.

Rickey leaves behind to cherish his memories (3) siblings: Lynetta Albright, LaDarin Lee, and Darrin "Baby Brother" Lee (Marilyn); (2) nieces: DeNeatra Dean and Lawanda Lee; (1) great nephew Treyvon Britt; a special cousin Dwight Booker along with a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
