Obituary

Richard Lee Ingram was born on December 13, 1954 the second child to Nathaldon and Bettye Jo Ingram in Houston, Texas. The family continued to expand with the births of Sharon Jean and Betty Jo before heading to Waco. The family spent a few years in Mexia where the baby of the family Tony Vonn was born and shortly thereafter they moved back to Waco.

Richard spent his formidable years in Waco and attended A. J. Moore High School. During these years, Richard received several awards of honor for good deportment and commendable performance, a meritorious service award for volunteer work with the Neighborhood Center Program, and was also crowned the Junior High King during the school's 1969 Coronation.

After high school, Richard joined the United States Marine Corps September 29, 1972 and attended boot camp in Paris Island, South          Carolina. His first duty assignment was at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with the 2nd Marine Division as a Machine Gunner. He was eventually discharged after 4 years of service and returned to Waco. It was during this time that he met and dated his future wife Sherry Brown. Their first    daughter Lashaundra was born in October 1978 and the couple later married November 17, 1979 in Euless, TX. In February 1980, they        welcomed their second daughter Michelle.

Over the years, Richard lived and worked around Texas before reconnecting with his children in May 2017 in Dallas. He spent the next years being a grandfather to Michelle's two sons Antonio (Tony) and Johnathan (JT) and a great grandfather to A'Nayla, Ahlani, and Ahlana. Richard was quite the social butterfly and loved by his neighbors. You could find him barbecuing, playing dominoes or plucking on his friend Joe's guitar. He enjoyed telling the boys stories about being a Marine and a ladies man but most of all he loved his great grandchildren. He was called by God on May 10, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nathaldon and Bettye Jo Ingram, his wife Sherry Ingram, and his daughter Tabitha Hunter. He leaves  behind to cherish his memories his bonus son Micheal Shaw, bonus  daughter Keisha Ward, daughters Lashaundra Shaw-Martinez and Michelle Ingram. Grandsons Antonio Greer and Johnathan Smith. Great grandchildren A'Nayla, Ahlani, and Ahlana Greer. Aunts Olene Bergeron and Ethel Davis. Siblings Sandra Stokes, Sharon DeGrate, Betty Miller, and Tony Ingram. Niece Nicole Calhoun, nephews Nathan Benson and Nathaldon Ingram. Great nephews Madden and Maverick Calhoun and a host of friends and loved ones.
