Myrtlene Johnson was born on December 29, 1944 in Roxton, Texas to the late Theodore and Thelma Ashley. She attended H.G. Smith in Roxton, Texas.

She married Jimmy Lee Johnson and to this union six children were born. She loved her children and enjoyed being around her family and friends. She loved the Dallas Cowboys. She was a devoted mother and lived her life. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She made sure she had her makeup on and she loved to dress to empress. She was loved by many and she loved everyone.

Myrtlene is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Johnson, son Timmy Johnson, sister Louise Spraglin, Bonnie Ashley, Connie Ashley, Roosevelt Ashley, Mack Ashley and Johnny Ashley.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories (5)children: Verlene Aurther (Keith), Clarence Johnson, Kathy Johnson, LaTonya Johnson, Stacy Johnson (Jacky); grandson/son Brodrick Johnson; special daughter Billie Joe Walker; sister Alafire Sims (Leonard); (2) brothers: Douglas Ashley (LaFrance) and Gilbert Ashley; (14) grandchildren; (24) great  grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
