Naples, Texas. She received her formal education in Dallas County.

She was preceded in death by (3) children: Mark Blane, Menford Joe Jr. and Roderick Dwyane and her parents Mildred Seals and James A Becton.

Merilane leaves behind to cherish her memories her only daughter JoAnn Neal-Williams; (5) grandchildren: Kristofer, LaShonda, Brittanye, Melrick and Andreda; (13) great grandchildren; (1) sister Norma Becton; (1) brother Milton Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends.
