Mary Edna Means-Offord was born on December 19, 1931 in Plain Dealings, Louisiana to the parents of Mary Dupree and L. Means. She married Henry Johnson and to this union 3 children were born. Later in life she met and married Willie Offord and was married for 30 years. She met and married Joseph Garfield and then remarried Willie Offord.

Mary was a member of Wayside Church until she joined 2nd Avenue Baptist Church where she became a mother of the church.

She was preceded in death by 3 husbands, one daughter Edna Johnson, one sister Lee Essie Dupree, grandson Willie Johnson and a niece Joy Burney.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memories (2) children: Emma Lee Johnson and Mary Esters; (6) grandchildren: Lonnie Johnson (Sandra), Marilyn Johnson, Curtis Johnson (Terrie), Victoria Hendrix, Marvin Hendrix and Timothy Hendrix along with a host of other relatives and friends.
