Obituary

Mary is in the Land of the Living now and her joy has been made whole.

Mary Henderson-Craddock transitioned into the loving arms of Jesus on March 5, 2026, after a periods of illness at the age of 91. During her last days in her earthy body, she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and those who loved her.

Mary was born on June 4, 1934, in New Boston, Texas. She was the oldest of twelve children to  the parentage of Marshall and Bertha Henderson. She was the most meek and humble of all her siblings.

Mary was united in holy matrimony to Cecil Craddock on August 2, 1953. To this union eleven children were born. She was a loving wife and an amazing Christian mother. She was also a loving grandmother to her grandchildren and others, regardless of their color or creed. Mary worked for many years as a household technician. Later she worked for the Dallas Community Council Services as a Human Resource Caregiver until her health would no longer allow her to do so.

She accepted Christ as Lord and Savior as a teenager. She was the first in her family to receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit under the Leadership of Superintendent D.S. Lacy. Mary later became a member of the Greater North Park C.O.G.I.C. Her strength and beauty radiated from the inside out; a true example of the Proverbs 31 woman; "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." That was Mother Mary Lee Craddock. She served faithfully until her health failed.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents: Marshall and Bertha Henderson, (10) siblings: Joe Henderson, Lloyd Henderson, James Henderson, Eugene Henderson, Betty Henderson, Charlotte Henderson, Bobby Henderson, Harry Henderson, Helen Henderson and Joyce Henderson, her husband Cecil Craddock, (4) children: Cecil Ray Craddock, Stewart Craddock, Linda Craddock and Cathy Thompson.

She is survived by (7) children: Jenny Harrison (Johnny), Ray Craddock (Cecilia), Rodney M. Craddock (Teresa), Christopher Craddock (Meeka), Billy M. Craddock (Faye), Kenneth Craddock and Patrick Craddock; a loving sister Ora Grimes; (1) aunt Rosie Riley-Alex along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will miss her deeply. I pray that the Lord's peace rest upon each of us that loved Mary, Sister and Gi Gi!
