Mamie
Anderson
May 8, 1942 — Jul 3, 2025
Mamie Louise Anderson was born in Marlin, Texas on May 8, 1942 to the parentage of Elbert and Pearlene Anderson. She was 1 of 12 children. She graduated from Pelham High School in Frost, Texas. She was a straight A student and also won the spelling Bee contest.
She dedicated her life to Christ very early in life, going on to receive her missionary license. Mamie later worked with DISD for 25 years of service (Among other Jobs) and later retired. She loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. She loved traveling, but most of all she loved the Lord.
Mamie attended Mitchel Street COGIC, renamed Abundant Life COGIC under the leadership of the late DR. Edward Lee Battles, where she held multiple roles including that of a secretary and later came to be "Miss Mitchel Street". She continued serving at Abundant Life COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent Everett Jones, where she became one of the mothers of the church and served as a Sunday School teacher. Mamie was always the peace maker, the one to always lift your spirit, also quick to witness to you about the Lord. One of her favorite sayings were "live life like it's your last day."
She is preceded in death by her parents: Elbert Anderson Sr. and Pearlene Anderson, (2) sisters: Joyce Bartee and Berdia Dell Davis, (2) brothers: Kenneth Earl Anderson and Leonard Anderson.
Mamie leaves behind to cherish her memories (1) son William A. Anderson; (1) daughter Cathy L. A. Sharp (Lindsey); (5) grandchildren: Adrian A. Anderson, Quaylan K. Anderson, Amber K. Gurung (Simon), Lindsey L. Sharp Jr. and Cahtlin L. Sharp; (3) great grandchildren: Sephora K. Gurung, Sanaya L. Gurung and Wyatt Anderson; (4) sisters: Jearlene Bruton (Raymond), Earlene Garrett (Steve), Gwendolyn Bush and Pinkie Bowens; (1) brother Elbert Anderson Jr. along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
