Mr. Lorenzo William Bennett Jr. was born February 19, 1960 to the parents of Lorenzo Bennett Sr. and Annette Vaughn in Dallas, Texas. He attended Lincoln High School with the Dallas Independent School District.

He received Christ at an early age. On February 19, 1982 he married his wife Barbara Gail Lewis. He worked for the city of Dallas. He was an excellent landscaper and was an amazing outdoor cooker on the bar b que pit. He was a caring man to his wife, mother and child. During family gatherings Lorenzo, would take care of everyone and everything. You never had to worry about fixing a plate or throwing away the trash, Lorenzo had it covered. He had a bond with his son that no one could break. Jamaal, Rennie (your old man) as you called him loves you so much. You were his world.

Lorenzo is preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Bennett Sr., his son Derrick Bennett, brother Gary Bennett, grandmothers Lillie Mae Massey and Mamie Bennett; grandfathers, Clyde Vaughn and Albert Bennett and one sister Cynthia Bennett, uncle Jesse and two aunts, Janie McCoy and Clydie Mae Smith.

He leaves to cherish his glorious memories with his wife, Barbara Bennett; son Jamaal Bennett (Audretta Bennett); grandchildren Ashanti Roy (Tyriq Wesley), Bobbie Roy (Kari Coleman), Jolisha Welch, Craig Randall, Christopher Welch; one great grandson Tyriq Wesley Jr.; mother, Annett Collins; two sisters, Loleta Bennett (Christopher Wright), Sharon Fowler (Rory Martin); one brother, Ricky Bennett; a very special niece, Schenique Bennett; three aunts, Dorothy Jones, Ida Bennett, and Nancy Roney and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
