Linda
Mccarty
Aug 13, 1958 — Feb 16, 2021
Linda Navarro McCarty was born in McAllen, Texas (also known as The Valley) on August 13, 1953 to the parentage of Lorenza Estrada Navarro and David Navarro Sr. She took care of her two younger brothers, David Jr. and Daniel Navarro, while their mother worked full-time. At an early age she became a mother figure and continued to be later in life. Linda graduated from McAllen High School and attended East Texas State University.
In June of 1970 Linda united in marriage with Rev. James McCarty Sr. Together they had three children James Jr., Pamela, and Jordan McCarty.
Mrs. McCarty quickly joined the workforce. She worked in the factory packing boxes and was elated to employed. She told her son Jordan that she got her work ethic from seeing her mother work two jobs in order to provide for her and her siblings. Linda soon gravitated to Corporate America in 1973 she became employed with Moore Business Forms. Linda excelled in all in all aspects of her work life, her dedication and drive was unmatched. Many days Linda was the first one in and last to leave, she truly believed in going above and beyond. Her strong work ethic did not go unnoticed Mrs. McCarty received countless awards, accolades, and accommodations year after year. Linda established many friendships and bonds with her co-workers that have lasted over the years. After almost twenty years of service the company, Moore Business Forms, relocated to Illinois and Linda decided it would be best financially for her to follow the work. However, God (and James Sr.) had other plans, Linda soon gave birth to Jordan! After having Jordan, Linda returned back to what she knew Corporate America, just not in Illinois. Linda was employed with United Copper for several years and was looking forward to her upcoming retirement from ESAB.
Though Mrs. McCarty took pride in doing a job well done, her greatest joy was her family. Linda believed in being a Woman of God, a Wife, and a Mother. She embodied the definition of a virtuous Woman. Mrs. McCarty took pride in being a "Preacher's wife" and supported Rev. McCarty through good times, bad times, health and sickness. Linda often shared stories of her children and grandchildren with her friends. Mrs. McCarty truly thought the world of her family, and in return they thought the world of her. Linda never missed an athletic event, school play, teacher conference, awards ceremony, etc. She remained employed full time only to come home to yet another full time job, yet she never complained. Instead she would rise each morning and proclaim "This is the day The Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it" Psalm 118:24
Linda enjoyed gardening, fellowshipping with family and friends, and preparing feasts for her family. She could definitely cook with the best of them! Mrs. McCarty had a smile and personality that could light up any room.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lorenza Estrada and David Navarro Sr., husband Rev. James E. McCarty Sr. and James E. McCarty Jr. #1 son.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories her children: Pamela "Little Girl" & Jordan "Little Pumpkin" McCarty, bonus daughter, Pamela Hicks #1 Pam (Don); two siblings: David Navarro Jr. & Daniel Navarro; grandchildren: DeAndre, Chrystle, & Brittney Hicks, Alexander James and Jacyn McCarty, Rodney Jr., & Rodnesha Gladney and a host of other relatives and friends.
