Obituary

Mr. L.D. Richardson Jr. was born June 6, 1933 to the  parents of L.D. Richardson Sr. and Martha Ruth Richardson in Kilgore, Texas.

Rickey attended Kilgore High School where he was a football star being the baddest running back of the  school breaking many records.

He was a hard working man. He worked as a dump truck driver for his father while in Kilgore at an early age. In 1952 he served in the Navy  until 1954. He worked for Philco Ford and he retired from DISD after 25years.

On one Sunday  he took a drive to Longview , TX and spotted a pretty woman walking down the street carrying a sweet potato pie. He pulled over and asked her for a slice of pie, she responded by telling him if he followed her to home. She would give him a slice and he did just that. That was the beginning of a relationship which lead to marriage.
