Lanicka Denise Thomas was born February 12, 1977b in Dallas, Texas to the proud parents of Calender Thomas and Lindall Broadnex. She received her formal education from Dallas Independent School District.

Lanicka was  a loving and devoted mother of two children. She lived her life surrounded by love and always giving love in return.

She is preceded in death by both parents, sister Carolyn Thomas and granddaughter Serenity Johnson.

Lanicka leaves behind to cherish her loving memories one son Derrick Thomas; one daughter Nicole Johnson; one brother Lindall Broadnex Jr. (Lisa); one sister Angela Thomas (Cleo); ten aunts: Bertha Hayden (Londell), Barbara Vaughn, Jireilean Smith, Bettie Emanuel, Diane Broadnex, Carol Broadnex-Brown (Ivory); Linda Broadnex-McCown (Stevie), Debra  Broadnex-Graves (Larry), Luegenia Broadnex and Sharon Broadnex; four uncles: Bernard Chatman (Loretta), Calvin Fields, Walter Broadnex and Rickey Broadnex (Kimberly) along with a host of nieces, nephews, abundance of other family and friends that love her dearly.
