Joe Marcus Royal was born July 22, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas to Willie Joe and Roma Jean who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his only daughter Nicole Royal.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 10 years Gloria Royal; his only son Eric Mason (Sarah);  (5) siblings: Dwight Royal, Phyllis Collins (Anthony), Rodney Royal, Cynthia Cottrell and Tosheba Jones (Danwyck); (4) granddaughters: Daja Royal, Olivia Mason, Raine Mason and Mackenzie Mason; (4) grandsons: Demarcus Mason, Eric Mason Jr.,  Malaki Mason and Na'Kielyn Mason along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him dearly.
