Jessie Bernice Collins, affectionally known as "Anut Baby", was born on July 18, 1943 to Jewel L. Washington in Rosebud, TX. She attended Rosebud High School. Later she moved to Dallas, TX, where she met and married John D. Gay Jr and to this union four children were born, Janice, Brenda, John III and Esther.

She was employed with Baylor Hospital for 25 years. She met Mr. Mathew Collins and were married in May of 1983. She loved her family. She also enjoyed, Bingo, Dominoes and scratching lottery tickets. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church until the Lord called her home.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents: Jewel & Leonard, (2) brothers, (2) sisters, (1) daughter and her husband.

She leaves behind (3) daughters: Janice Crawford (Robert), Esther Casey (Jimmy) and Lawanda Jackson; (1) son John D. Gay III; (8) grandchildren: Deltran, Jasmine (Allen), Jimmy (Quea), Jessica G., Jessica R., Keluondrick, Alvin, John G. IV (Erica); (8) great grandchildren: Jimmy III, Shamaur,  Sanaa, Allen III, Aaliyah, Keltrice, Jayce and Emma along with a host of other relatives and friends.
