James H. Richards was born in Ferris, TX on October 13, 1943 to the parentage of Johnny and Mattie Richards. He accepted Christ at an early age.

He retired from FFE and Wilmer-Hutchins ISD. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and being around his grandchildren. He also enjoyed showing his youngest daughter, LaShelia his many skills.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dora, his brothers: Willie D. and J.D.

James leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Kathleen; eight children: James Jr. (Mary), Judy, Margaret, Rodney, Malakia, Matina (David), LaShelia and LaDonte (Isela); eleven grandchildren: Reva, Sharita, Brittany, LeTicia, MacKenzye, Mikal, Michaelin, Meagan, LaDonte Jr., Ariana and DeAndre; one brother Thomas; three special grandchildren: Shayla, Taylor and Zeno and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
