Freda
Franklin
Dec 21, 1955 — Dec 25, 2024
Freda Annette Franklin, the first born of five siblings, was born on December 21, 1955, in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Freddie and Christene Phillips. She met and married her husband Willie J. Franklin and they stayed married until God called her home on December 25, 2024.
On December 10, 1973, she had the first of three children, Desionne Franklin. On March 18, 1975, she brought into the world her only daughter, Tichawonna Franklin and on March 20th 1977, she brought into the world her third love, Jamion Franklin. Her greatest gift will always be her children. As she loved them more than words can ever express.
Freda Franklin spent her life's career as a Licensed Registered Nurse, following in the footsteps of her mother, Christene Phillips. She loved her career and stayed up to date on her licenses and her career field even after retirement. She was a compassionate and caring nurse, not only was she a nurse as her chosen career field but she was also the family nurse, as she was the first call when any member of her family had a sniffle, sneeze, or cough.
Freda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was a member of Fruitdale Missionary Baptist Church, where she engaged in several activities in her youth.
She prided herself on helping her family. Freda was the family counselor, heart mender, and cook. Her love of cooking and gardening drove her to create some of the best dishes. Her specialty dishes were her greens and her strawberry cake; however, she was a talented cook and her skills did not stop with just those items. She poured her heart, soul, and love into her meals and these meals will be missed by all those who love her, especially her husband, children, grandchildren, brother, sister, nephew and nieces.
Freda is proceeded in death by her parents Freddie and Christene Phillips. Her daughter, Tichawonna Franklin. Her brothers Michael D. Phillips, and Richard E. Phillips, brothers in law, Eddie Franklin, Paul Wayne Franklin, Johnny Ray Franklin, and sister in law, Linda Franklin.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Willie J. Franklin, children, Desionne and Jamion Franklin (Mirelle) and stepsons, Willie James Franklin Jr, Marcus Dewayne (Cherikka) Franklin, Michael Franklin. Her grandchildren, Quran M. Coleman, Ghaysiah Franklin, Salaam Franklin, Elijyah Franklin, Khaliq Franklin, granddaughters, Ganesha A. Thomas, Tianna T.
