Emma King was born on March 10, 1948 in Bagwell, Texas to the parentage of the late D.C. Liggins and Geneva Nunley. She worked as a CNA for over 20 years. She was also valedictorian of her nursing school.

She was a loving mother of five children; Sam, Authur, the late Tara, Marcus and Shelcoma King. She was also a grandmother of 17 and 12 siblings. She was loved and will be missed.
