Obituary

Sgt. Eddie Lee Mitchell Jr. was born on November 22, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Eddie Lee Mitchell Sr. and Rose Parker. He gained his wings and transitioned to his heavenly home on November 14, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He accepted Christ into his life at a young age.

After graduating from South Mecklenburg High School academically gifted program in Charlotte, North Carolina, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1973 and honorably served his country until 1983. Upon separating from the military, Eddie established his roots and made Texas his new home with his previous spouses Teresia and Lora.

Eddie proudly served 17 years as a transportation supervisor for Dallas Area Rapid Transit, where he was admired by the bus operators. Later he worked at Echo Transportation until his retirement in 2020. In his retirement, he embraced his new role of being a stay-at-home dad.

Eddie enjoyed bowling, reading novels, watching action movies, orange soda, and sharing stories about his military career and childhood. Most importantly he enjoyed spending quality time with his children creating precious core childhood memories.

Eddie was also preceded in death by his parents Eddie Lee Mitchell Sr. and Rose Parker, brother Demetrius Jenkins,   sister Rozaline Parker, and daughter Erica Deineen Mitchell.
