Earnest Ray Richmond was born in Seagoville, Texas on February 28, 1944 to the parents of Willie Lee Richmond and Lillie Mae Sirls.  He attended schools in Seagoville and after graduation and marriage to Sarah Ann Kennedy, moved to Pittsburg, Texas.  From this union, three children were born.

Earnest worked as a pulp wood cutter for over 10 years before  attending college to become a school teacher.  Earnest graduated from Jarvis Christian College and taught in Dallas ISD for 3 months as a middle school math teacher.

Earnest is preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Kennedy Richmond, his grandson, Jorian Daniel Caldwell, his sister Willie Mae Richmond, and his brothers Willie Earl Richmond, William Richmond, Freddie Richmond, and Alvin Richmond.

Earnest leaves behind his children Earnest Ray Richmond, Jr (Pittsburg, TX), Tamara Richmond Caldwell (Desoto, TX) and Samuel Ray Richmond (Desoto, TX) , grandchildren Omarii  Richmond, Sydney Richmond, Dylan Caldwell and Carson Caldwell, his sisters Lillie Richmond, Shannon Richmond and Emmerly  Richmond Ford, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
