Dwight Edward Roach was born on December 6, 1954 in Dallas. He was the oldest child to the late parentage of Hermann Smith Sr. and Betty Simon Carter. He attended South Oak Cliff High School where he graduated with the class of 1972. He also served in the US Navy.

He met the love of his life Patricia Ann Roach sharing 17 years of marriage until she received her Heavenly Wings.

Dwight was preceded in by his parents Hermann Smith Sr. and Betty J. Simon-Carter, grandmother Jimmie L. Langster, brother Steven Wayne Roach, sisters: Karen Lynn Roach-Gooden and Charlet Ann Roach-Lane.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving devoted brother Jimmy Lavell Roach (Shelia); beloved aunt and uncle Sherry and Robert Wallace; (5) special nephews: Percy Antwon Lane, Gary Dwight "Gee" Lane, David Keir Roach, Detrail Tromone Roach and Zackary York Roach (Samantha); (3) special nieces: Tiffany "Tippey" Lane Bowen (Christopher), Ameisha S. Roach and Jamie L. Roach along with a host of other relatives and friends.
