Doris Marie Banks Whitfield was born on March 7, 1965 in Hammond, La to the union of Robert Banks and Rosie Lee Banks, both preceded her in death.

She moved to Dallas in the late 1980s where she met and married Jeryl Whitfield on April  17, 1989, who also preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by one of their children, Brian R. Whitfield

She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Lucious Banks, Robert Lee Banks and Alfred Banks. And 2 sisters: Gladys Banks and Carolyn Banks

She leaves to cherish her memories her oldest son Jeryl Brandon Whitfield. Her brother James "Boo" Banks and sister Louise "Sista" Jackson. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives and many cherished friends.
