Obituary

was born September 12, 1953, to the parentage of Almeta Richardson and Robert Castile, being the firstborn to her mother known as Big Sister to her siblings. She spent her childhood years in Dallas graduating from South Oak Cliff High School in 1972. By her being the firstborn got everything she wanted or asked for by both parents. She later moved to California after graduation to live with her dad and other siblings. She attended and graduated from Santa Monica College while in California.

She later returned to Dallas working in customer service for Government Services for many years. She always stayed in  contact with her classmates Sheridan (aka Punkin), Sharon and Bernie. They picked up where they left off once she returned. She enjoyed life and being with her friends. She was a bargain hunter always having food coupons, if not in her purse, on her phone. She was very knowledgeable, always     reading and finding ways to get government assistant. She didn't keep it to herself but shared it with all that need it. She loved buying gifts for family and friends, always remembering birthdays and Christmas for each of them. Della also loved to cook, she would cook Sunday dinner everyday and feed the neighbors and carry plates to others in need.

Della went to church in her younger years remembering one song (Pass Me Not). She accepted Christ in her later years and joined New Independent B.C. She served faithfully for many years. She would always find her way to True Believers because of her brother Melvin and his wife Charlotte. It reminded her of the church of old in which she grew up. She was always giving of her time and tithes to the church as needed.

Della never had children but she a mother to many. She had a very special place in her heart for her twin nephews Tracy and Terrance, born to her sister Lena. After the loss of their mother at a young age she took on the mother role and did what she could to bring them joy in the time of sorrow. The sorrow was even greater after the loss of twin Terrance. Tracy was like the son she never had, raising him as her own, sharing in his family network being mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to his children and grandchild.

She never lost that California accent always saying (You guys just as her Nephew Tracy does) Her sister Lena Richardson, her brothers Craig Wright and Alvin Wright along with Mom and Dad proceeded her in death.

As she aged illness came to her house, but she continued her same routine of what she did before becoming ill. She was a soldier afraid of needles but was always being stuck by them, never complaining but trusting God would see her through every treatment. Her greatest refuge was her home along with the refuge of God.

She was a very private person enduring the illness alone until one day she felt to need to let her brother Melvin in on what was transforming in her life. Melvin became a caregiver to her just has she had been a caregiver to all the siblings.

Very early Tuesday, December 17th, Della left this world behind leaving to cherish her memories: Three brothers: Larry Richardson, Melvin Wright (Charlotte) and Ray Castile, one sister; Stacy Wright and sister-in-law Diane Wright (Craig) along with a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
