Clara
Mitchell
Oct 11, 1940 — Nov 26, 2024
Clara Lee Mitchell "Nee Reese" was born on, October 11, 1940 to the parents of Mary Lee and John Robert Reese, Sr. "Nana" was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother!!! Nana accepted Christ at a very young age in life and became active in church thereafter. She was an Usher, Pastor's Aide, Prayer Warrior and Mother of the Church.
Nana worked for Erie Lackawanna Railroad (Conrail), John's Pizzeria and Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her true love, however, was working in the church. Nana loved to sew, fish, cook and could clean a house so well that you could eat off the floor. That's how "Southern Women roll".
At the time in the south, Nana was not able to complete schooling. She subsequently obtained a 6th grade education during segregation. Things were quite different during that time period. That didn't stop her integrity though. Later in life, Nana and Dad became Foster Parents after taking multiple Foster Parenting Classes. "Not bad for someone with a 6th grade education". They later adopted three of the children. She could hold her own in everything she wanted to achieve.
Loved ones she join in eternal life are her spouse James O. Mitchell, Sr., (2) sons: Diangelo D. Lyles and Demetruis L. Lyles, grandson Adam J. Mitchell, sister Daisy Leigh Settles, brother-in-law Earl "Uncle Mack" Wisdom and a daughter-in-law Lydia Jackson .
Nana is survived by (7) children: Richard (Barbara) Reese, Charles Jackson, Cassandra (Joseph) LeDay-Weber, Sharon Lyles, James O. Mitchell, Tonja Mitchell-Brodsky and Yolanda (Jeremy) Taubenfeld; (3) adopted children: James Mitchell III "Jamie", Shirley Mitchell and Martez (Abrill) Mitchell; (21) grandchildren; (20) great grandchildren; (9) great-great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish and miss her dearly.
"WE LOVE YOU NANA!!!"
