On August 22, 1957, Billy Ray was born to the parentage of Catherine Knox and M.C. "Mickey" Alphard in Mooringsport, La.  Billy Ray later moved with his mom to Dallas, Texas where he visited Dallas Public Schools and later worked in construction with his mother, brothers, cousins, and family friends.  Up until he was no longer mobile, Billy Ray loved hanging with his family and driving to corner store for lottery tickets and cigarettes for him and Annie Mae, his longtime friend.

Billy Ray, was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Knox Harris, father, Mickey Alphard, 2 big brothers: Robert and Pete, and grandson,         Darius.

He leaves to cherish his many memories: his sisters, Shirley who nurtured and took care of him up until his passing. Other sisters: Faye, Brenda, Sharon, Ann, and Gail.  Brothers, David and Bruce.  His daughter Kim (Ray), and his son, Damien aka Dee, grandchildren: Britne and Anthony, great-grandchildren: Princeton, Krishell, and Jakarri. Uncle Mark Sr. (Martha) Aunts, Polly Davis and Bertha Sephus, and a host of other relatives and family friends.
