Bertha Jean Allen-Morris was born to Johnnie and Hattie Allen on November 23, 1939 in Kiomatia, Red River County, Texas. She grew up and spent most of her life in Cooper Texas and attended and graduated from Booker T Washington School in Cooper. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a current member of the Baptist Hill Church in Ben Franklin Tx.

She met and married Andrew Morris in her early years and to that union two children were born; a daughter, Bertha Lazette Morris and a son Kenneth Morris.

Bertha enjoyed going to church, taking long walks through the community and holiday family gatherings. She was a very proud person and demanded from others the same respect she gave them.  She doted on her children and grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie & Hattie Allen, two sisters: Martha Allen and Betty Campbell and three brothers: Connie, John D and Willie.

Bertha leaves to cherish her memories (2) children: Bertha Lazette Morris and Kenneth Morris (Eillene); (2) grandchildren: Ashley Morris and Kentrice Morris; (1) sister Louise Kirk, (1) brother Lonnie Allen (Stephanie) along with many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
