Arthur Dennis Hurst, affectionately called "Dennis" was the 3rd son born to A. B. Hurst and Katherine Woods Hurst, on December 24, 1954, in Dallas, TX.

At an early age, Dennis united with Trinity Valley Baptist Church, where he was baptized by the late, Rev. H. A. Thomas. He was a 1973 graduate of North Dallas High School. After graduation, he became an entrepreneur working diligently until his health failed. He was known for his extravagant style & dressing, Dennis was voted "Best Dressed" in high school.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father A. B. Hurst, mother Katherine Hurst and brother Timothy Hurst.

He leaves to cherish his memory; (2) daughters: Christie Hurst and Lyisha Tatum; (1) son: Michael Shields; (1) grandson: Cedric Barnes Jr.; (1) brother: Eric Ray Hurst (Gloria); (2) special aunts: Berthanne Moore and Mittie Robinson; (2) daughters through extended family, Sammiqua and Ginnean and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
