Arender
Teal
Mar 10, 1940 — Jan 3, 2025
On March 10, 1940, Arender Teal was the seventh born in Pine Springs, TX to the late George Marvin Foy Sr., and Willie Dell Harrington-Foy. She was raised in Kennard along with her brothers and sisters and loved her family. She had the sweetest smile, a quiet and gentle spirit, and was kind to all. She would never hesitate to help anyone who needed it. Although she may have been quiet, she could hear conversations in the house from across the street. She was very observant and did not miss anything.
After graduating from Kennard High, she married Tommie Teal and gave birth to her only child, Vivian Teal, in San Diego, CA. After returning to Dallas, TX, she started her career as a Nurse's Aide, in which she continued for over 40 years.
Arender Teal was a faithful member of Jordan Missionary Baptist Church in Lancaster TX, under the leadership of the late Pastor R. M. Robertson, who was succeeded by Pastor Sinclair Royal.
Arender loved bowling, walking, scary movies, Wrestlemania, and planting flowers in the yard. We laughed about her famous pronunciations and sayings such as: Shamal (Jamal), Joshufer (Joshua), Heada (Heather), Cindy (Sydnee), Wendy (Whitnee), Kington (Kingston), comote (remote), and svitch (switch). She often would say in conversations "I'll say", "Get out of here", and "Now look at you". She was the best Jiffy cornbread maker in the world and would say, "I added two teaspoons of sugar just like you like it!"
She now joins her siblings; Billie Lamb, Monte Raye Washington, Faye Dean Crowder, Lynder Whittington, George Alfred Foy, Luster L. Foy, Shirley Allen, and Bernard Foy. She leaves behind her only daughter, Vivian Teal, three grandsons - Noble Shannon Teal (Heather), Joshua Alan Dorsey (Katrina), Jordan Andrew Dorsey, five great-grandchildren-Sydnee, Whitnee, Journey, Kingston, Legend, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
