Obituary

Gather to honor the remarkable life of Anthony Dion Sims, US Army SSG Retired, affectionately known as “Dallas” or “Dion.” Born on July 5, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to Anita Simpson Sims and E Will Sims, Anthony was baptized early in the Church of Christ.

From his youth, Anthony displayed exceptional athletic talent, especially in football, carrying the discipline and competitive spirit he learned on the field throughout his life. This determination propelled him into honorable service with the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and proudly served as an Army Ranger with the 3rd Battalion. His military career was a testament to his courage and unwavering commitment to his country.

Dion possessed an infectious personality; he was the undisputed life of every party and gathering. His vibrant presence, quick wit, and endless stories brought laughter and energy wherever he went, making every occasion brighter. Above all, Dion was a man of profound loyalty and love for his family and friends, always offering support, encouragement, and genuine companionship.

His legacy is not measured by awards or achievements, but by the countless lives he touched. Whether as an athlete, a soldier, a loyal friend, or a beloved family member, Dion left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He taught us the value of strength, courage, unwavering loyalty, and the sheer joy of laughter.

Today, we celebrate how Anthony lived: with immense strength, a courageous heart, unwavering loyalty, and an abundance of love. Though his earthly journey is complete, the impact of his life, his laughter, and his love will resonate through the memories we cherish and the stories we will continue to share.

Anthony was preceded in death by his grandmother Marcella Simpson, his mother Anita Sims, his sister Yvette Feagins and Bonita ‘Bad Mama Rose’ Foreman.

He is survived by the love of his life (wife), Susannah Webb; his children, Chris, Sean, and Savannah Sims, Landen and Carly Rouse, and Olivia (Ryan) Porter; his siblings Michelle Simpson, Angela Williams, Adrian Sims, and Patrick Williams; his adoptive family the Finley’s; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and devoted friends who will forever hold him dear.

Rest well, Ranger. Your mission here is complete, but your extraordinary legacy will forever march in our hearts.
