Anthony
Bussey
Jun 22, 1964 — Mar 22, 2025
Anthony was born the youngest of five on June 22, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Sam M. Bussey Jr. and Ruth Ola Bussey. Anthony grew up in a loving, Christian household attending Riverside Missionary Baptist Church.
As a boy he loved soccer, running, and out-racing his peers. His need for speed didn't stop there as he developed a love for being behind the wheel. He loved his first car dearly, a burgundy Monte Carlo. However, anyone that knew him for most of his adult life, you knew to look for him in one of his beloved and well-kept pickup trucks. He was in his element in any driver's seat, though, no matter the vehicle. He demonstrated this passion by joining the family business: Bussey Trucking, Inc. (BTI) driving dump trucks. Later, he had the desire to become his own boss and purchased his own truck(s), naming his company AUB Trucking then T&J Trucking in honor of his daughters. During his career, he also drove limousines, a mixer truck for a concrete company and, at one point, had a side business detailing cars. He later returned to work for the family business as foreman when his father passed.
Anthony met his wife, Levon, as a young man and they married and had two daughters Tiffany and Jasmine. Anthony and Levon went on to join New Birth Baptist Church and raised their daughters to know God. His oldest daughter went on to gift him with the joys of being a grandparent to his little Harmoni, his pride and joy.
He was a devoted family man not just to his wife and kids but the rest of his family as well, including his friends who he also treated like family. He was always ready to help someone, show up for an event, promote peace between those in conflict and bring people together for a good time. He knew that our time on this earth was limited and he wanted everyone to make the most of it and enjoy one another. He was truly salt of the earth, always happy to encourage others, promote positivity, and to try to bring out the best in people.
Anthony Ulyesses Bussey was dearly beloved and his memory will be cherished by his wife, Levon; his daughters, Tiffany and Jasmine; his granddaughter Harmoni; his sisters Beverly Gipson (Joseph) and Ladine Gathright (Willie); also a host of nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
