Benson
Jan 3, 1991 — Jan 12, 2026
Aaron Benson was born on January 3, 1991, in Dallas, Texas to Nena Horsley and Floyd Benson.
From the beginning he was a force talented, driven, and destined to make an impact at Cedar Hill High School. He was a standout football player, earning National recognition as a Prep All-American and widely respected as one of the best linebackers in Texas. He brought heart, intensity, and leadership to every game.
Aaron continued his football journey at the University of Texas, where he played linebacker for the Longhorns. Over three seasons, he contributed on special teams and defense in 14 games, earning respect from teammates and coaches alike and balancing his athletic efforts with academic achievement. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 with his Bachelors of Science and Applied Learning and Development.
More than his accomplishments on the field, Aaron was a boy, a brother, an uncle, and a loyal friend whose presence lit up every room. His love, laughter, and spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
Aaron is lovingly survived by his parents: Nena Horsley and Floyd Benson; (2) sisters: Cedreia Davis and Shavion Benson; his niece Janiyah Holmes; adopted brother/best friend Collin Glover along with many close friends who meant the world to him.
